To Parents of Competitive Athletes…

A note to parents of kids competing in sports…
When I owned my gymnastics club I would constantly remind parents to NEVER use the word nervous or bring it up when it comes time for competition. Children are often NOT nervous until an adult tells them they should be nervous. A child feeds off YOUR energy. So do not discuss being nervous about events, discuss all their hard work and tell them they should enjoy the moment. Your child should walk away with GOOD memories, not bad ones.
